There are 11 open hangar objects based on 'Open Hangar Library' by Windhover who has generously supplied the raw Blender files for others to use. These look identical to the originals but have been heavily modified to be frame rate friendly. The triangle count is reduced by more than 40% plus LOD (Level Of Detail) simpler models produced which are used as the viewing distance increases. Final long distance models have only 15 triangles.
All objects in these libraries will be used in my own sceneries and the result of 100s hrs of effort. All objects from the real world. All objects use LOD (Level Of Detail) to keep frame rates high. Final long distance models have a large triangle added below ground to stop them disappearing in the distance. PBR materials used extensively. Included are 2 PDF files with photos of every object to make selection easy. Republish these files in any freeware scenery if required.

Can you please consider offering the modellib folders as a separate download? this would reduce the download size and reduce confusion I believe most users download for the library anyway.

Great objects!!! Quick question so I can experience your objects in MSFS (note, I am not a developer, simply a user). Aside from your other addons, which I presume you use most of your own objects, are you aware of (and can you recommend) any scenery developers who utilize your library objects? I'm sure you likely have no way of knowing all of them, but a top 3 or something like that would be good to know! Anyway, just wanted to pass on the kudos, and leave a 5 star rating.

hello from France! thanks a lot for your great libraries the most free of all! i used part of the scenery in my scenes /LFIK /LFQJ/LFBX/LFCB/LFDH/LFNG-Candillargues or i included it in my scenes (autonomous) and the little town of Saint-Gilles les Salines in Reunion Island where i need this library! again bravo for all this sharing

Hi. Thanks for this great library.
I have applied the flying objects and I notice that the gliders fly rather jerky. This in contrast to the paragliders which move smoothly. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

gliders paragliders hang gliders all use the same algorithms so the jerky flight is just a video card issue. Probably a little overloaded (too many moving objects) in one scenery compared to another.

gliders can look jerky because they fly a lot faster so they travel a lot further between screen updates andwhen the frame rate drops they will look jerky.

OK thanks. I have an RTX 4080 myself so it won't be the problem. If I have 1 glider as the only moving object in view, it shakes considerably. If I have 5 paragliders in view, they don't shake, even if a group of birds (addon) also fly by. You may be right that it has to do with the speed, but when I have several gliders (Multiplayer flight) in view, they do not move jerky either.
I now have a thermal glider and a ridge glider from your library in view and it is striking that only that thermal glider jerks. The ridge glider moves smoothly. So there is a clear difference between the 2 versions.

Ridge gliders use a different algorithm to thermal glider but it all seems smooth on my system.

I have changed the thermal gliders to use the same follow path algorithm that the ridge gliders use. They were originally using a rotate about a point algorithm. Hopefully it will fix the jerks. Cannot check myself because my system is smooth with either system. colinj

Some of the scenerys I installed use your libraries. You state that developers that use your libraries are required to change it IF they use a certain object. If a developer abandoned their project would it be bettter NOT to update to version 14.2??

The affected models were only a problem for one user that I know of but there may be others. The new library has updated 2 models but the fix required a change in model number and name. However the library still contains the old models just for sceneries that still contain them. So go ahead and download it as it will have no negative effects on any scenery. The new library will of course be required if you download a new (or updated) scenery that uses the updated models. SO DOWNLOAD IT only winning by doing so 😊.

if you have the folders library1v14-cbj library2v14-cbj in your 'Community' it will work and all the models will appear in Dev mode. Make sure you have selected 'All' in the Packages box to see all the libraries

Alternate installation. As stated in "read me" should only be done if you " a. design your own objects and know what to do with modelLib and texture b. are only using a couple of objects at one airport and adding a big library not desirable " I hope that matches you. What you are supplied with is a standard modelLIb directory containing all the model directories and a texture directory which contains the textures. This information is in the readme so please read all of it carefully.

Version 13 added a whole bunch of SimObjects which worked perfectly in testing. After release on the web discovered problems with using them on sloping ground. SimObjects have always had problems deciding if they want to be at ground or a designated height which results in msfs static aircraft jumping around (which can be fixed by raising them to ground level !!). So added advice on when and how to use them (no change to library) Version 13-2.
Then back on airport design noticed a minor problem with flagpole model which only appeared because I had raised it above ground level on a building. Fixed that one by making below ground triangle invisible. Version 13-3
Bummer fixed that one but forgot to put the windsocks back which I always add after compiling. Fixed that Version 13-4

Hi Colin,
Have tried it again, never had v12 so don't know if that worked or not! Even when I only have the two folders in my comm folder, it still crashes unless i'm in safe mode😞

Thanks for the library! It has been a great help! With the latest release, however, I see the Windsocks (x3) and Windsock Light in the PDF documentation, but only Windsock Light appears in the list in the ReadMe, the ModelLib1 and the scenery editor. So, perhaps the Windsocks themselves were mistakenly excluded? They were there a couple days ago in an earlier release.

Here it shows version number 13.1, but shows 0.1.0 in the manifest.

Are you using the SimObject version from the SimObject menu? Looks to me like you must have selected the 'Scenery' menu which has exactly the same lights with the same names. These are still there so that sceneries using the old versions will still work.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to do the day/night thing with a 'Scenery' object so they had to be changed to SimObject.
This is indicated in the visual guide .pdf but I will add it to the library description as well.

Duplicates are NOT a problem. Using an old version library in place of a new version IS a problem.
If the version no was not in the library name then then all 13 versions would have the same name. What then happens is an end user downloads your scenery which includes the latest version library with 250+ objects. Then downloads an older scenery (I have one of those on the web myself) which includes an older version (say 180 objects). With the same names the older version now overwrites the new version and your new scenery is now missing a bunch of objects. With different names both library versions will be there. There will be duplicate copies which is only a minor issue for the few updated objects (they might use the old version). Ideally the end user will have read the instructions and deleted the older version but no real issue if they don't.

Not to argue, but most creators and users know how to manage new versions. For example, the MSFS Addons Linker looks for the mod with the same root folder name, deletes it, and then replaces it with the latest version. Otherwise, it will add the latest version leaving redundant outdated mods active. Others have figured it out. You should check with other creators. Thanks
