XL Airways was a British low-cost charter and scheduled airline that which ceased operations when it went into administration on 12 September 2008. Its headquarters were in Crawley, West Sussex, near London Gatwick Airport. From its three bases at London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow, the airline provided short-haul and long-haul charter services, predominantly to leisure destinations.

A friend of mine was Captain with them, when they went bust he and the crew were stranded in Europe and had to make their own way home. I think we have two little choice of airlines now that monopolise the routes, it's a shame that these airlines go broke
