The Gee Bee R2 and Z have a sound issue where AI/multiplayer sounds are routed through the player's cockpit.
I made quick hacky a fix that works for me. This virtually replaces the AI soundpacks with the SDK sample AI soundpack without touching the original files.
This fix replaces the multiplayer/AI sound with the MSFS SDK simple aircraft sample soundpack.
V2 of this fix enables the sample engine sounds to work properly. At least it sounds like a plane when you get up close.
The player's plane still uses the original sounds so it should have no negative effects.
Too long; didn't read:
- Keeps player's plane sounds intact
- Fixes multiplayer/AI sounds playing in player's cockpit
V1: completely silences AI/multiplayer planes
V2: uses SDK sample engine sounds for AI/multiplayer planes properly.
(Remember to remove when Carenado/Asobo updates the plane. It's possible having this installed will prevent the plane from being updated correctly).
Install: drop in community folder like any other addon.
Credit: This contains Asobo's MSFS SDK simpleaircraft SDK sample AI soundpack with a different name.
This does NOT contain any Carenado files. Only the filename itself.
Uploaded to flightsim.to.
This has now been fixed by Asobo. Delete this file.

Thank you for this, can you do the same for the D17?
It has the same issue since the release of it.

I would if I owned the D17. If you send me the layout.json file for it in a DM I can try.
edit: Actually this fix should be pretty universal for Marketplace planes. But any planes installed to the community folder will need file swaps.
1: make a copy of this package
2: change the foldername of the folder inside the simobjects folder to the correct one for the plane. \simobjects\PLANENAME\. (you can find the correct name in the \official\onestore\ folder).
3: Update that foldername in layout.json.
4: change the title in manifest.json.
