Suggested airplane, weather, liftoff time, and autopilot settings:
- DA62
- Overcast (You may need to raise the lowest cloud layer so the base is ~5000 ft)
- Late afternoon (I'll use 4pm local time for live stream), although sunset and sunrise are pretty as well
- Two autopilot options:
- (Simpler) NAV mode, VS mode @ 500 FPM to 7000 ft
- Closer to terrain:
- Start with NAV mode, climb to 2000 ft, then ALT mode.
- At Hoh River Entry, VS mode @ 1000 FPM to 7000 ft
- After Hurricane Ridge, VS mode @ -1000 FPM to 3000 ft

Hello!
I host a live stream every week where we explore the National Parks together!
Before the stream, I research the park and help improve the park's Wikipedia pages. I also make a flight plan to showcase the park highlights and in case others want to fly along with me.
In the zip file you'll find:
- The .pln file with named waypoints (load this from the World Map screen of MSFS 2020)
- Relevant park map(s)
- A screenshot of where this flight plan goes relative to the park map
- MBTiles file(s) in case you have Foreflight or another app which supports these (this is how I overlay the flight plan and the park map when I fly around)
- ForeFlight .fpl file which matches the .pln in case you prefer ForeFlight (consider using a tool like Flight-Events /<add link: https://events.flighttracker.tech/ /> as a GPS/AHRS device)
All the best,
Jules
P.s. I highly recommend pulling Wikipedia up on the side and looking at the park while you explore.

A lot of fun. Ruby Rock seems to be missing from MSFS, but the parking lot is there? got a bit worried when it started to get dark, but it was fantastic.

I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, it's surprising sometimes what does and doesn't show up in MSFS... Not sure why for this one.
