These are various tall buildings in Belfast, that I created for my FSX freeware Belfast City Airport project. I originally created these models in gmax and have now updated them in blender.
I realise that there already is an excellent high detailed Belfast, that was created from google data, although I thought I might as well release these anyway, for anyone who might prefer a few less buildings, while still giving an impression of flying over/into Belfast City, through a few fairly high detailed hand-crafted buildings.
Designed to be used with default Microsoft Flight SImulator Scenery.
I have added a few buildings to the Harland & Wolff site, while keeping the default cranes in place. Works well with my Belfast City Airport freeware scenery:

Installation: Extract the files from the zip and place the jeromelogue-scenery-belfastbuildings folder (contained within the PackagesContent folder within the zip), into your Community folder
v1.01 (Hotfix)...multiple fixes on various buildings...night lighting improved on various buildings (Europa Hotel for example)...v1.01 also recieved an unnotified update a few minutes after I updated the file version...fixes a few issues with the Grand Central Hotel model
This scenery includes a fictional landable helipad on top of Belfast City Hospital.
v1.02 adds the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park and 'The Oval' Stadium
further night lighting improvements and various minor fixes...
v1.03 has minor improvements to existing buildings
v1.04 is compiled with the latest SDK for Sim Update 6 compatibility
v1.05 is compiled with the latest SDK for Sim Update 7 compatibility
v1.06 minor update to progress on RVH building...still work in progress...
v1.07 minor update to progress on RVH building...still work in progress...also updates and minor improvements to several other buildings...
v1.08 latest RVH work in progress build...major improvements to how Belfast City Hospital appears in sim...various minor improvements...
v1.09 is compiled with the latest SDK for Sim Update 8 compatibility
v1.10 is compiled with the latest SDK for Sim Update 10 compatibility
v1.101 a few corrections to various buildings - redundant polygons removed - night lighting improvements
v1.11 recompiled with latest SDK for Sim Update 11 (40th Anniversary edition) compatibility
v1.12 recompiled with latest SDK for Sim Update 12...new custom smoke and vapour effects added...still work in progress
v1.13 recompiled with latest SDK for Sim Update 13
..also includes a work-in-progress model of the Royal Victoria Hospital...an earlier version of which was included, in error, in last update!...it still needs quite a bit or work although hopefully I'll get this building completed within the next week or so (I'm plannning on including the other buildings on the RVH site also)...at the minute it looks very blurry (and untextured for the most part) although this and other issues will be fixed soon...
v1.14 recompiled with latest SDK for Sim Update 14. Improves appearance of Obel Tower.
v1.15 updates and major improvements to almost all buildings. Should look much better in the sim now.
Thank you for the comments and suggestions that have helped improve this scenery!
next update will hopefully include re-meshed apartments beside Odyssey, Royal Victoria Hospital (with landable helipad), The 'Rise' sculpture...plus maybe a few more buildings...update v1.02: I've started RVH although have noticed that there is probably a few other buildings (around the hospital) that should probably be included also...plus I will look at possibility of adding a windsock with new version of SDK...so this is sort of an intermediate version release, because I didn't want to delay the release of The Oval & Windsor Park...I haven't looked at adding 'Points Of Interest' tags yet, although these may be included for some buildings in a future update. Thanks for downloading!
I am also working on a freeware Aldergrove (Belfast International) Airport, although release is still a fairly long way away.

REALLY GREAT WORK! THANKS YOU VERY MUCH! But the too bright buildings are looking a bit unrealistic. Thus maybe it would be better to make a a new photogrammetry-version of Belfast City, which would replace the spoiled scenery by JOHN LOVELL...

Jerome, hats off to you for making flights close to home even better! I live just outside Magherafelt and you work has been fantastic, so thank you.

ah cool...thanks for the feedback! Was working on a freeware Aldergrove project also, although am holding off on that one for the minute, since a payware Aldergrove has been announced, (so am looking forward to seeing what that is like!), and will have more time to work on improving NI in general. Have a few plans for more VFR objects in my other NI freeware projects! Thanks again for the feedback!

Great work! However I think the materials are a little vibrant and pop out too much from the default scenery. Also the BT building has the old logo in your pack instead of the New logo (which is used IRL) as well as the SSE arena still saying Odysee on it. And the Royal Victoria Hospital looks really messed up. I think it looks more like a mistake though?
Otherwise, great work!

hi there - I think what you are seeing is the default Royal Victoria, as this project does not include the Royal Victoria Hospital just yet. I will look at changing the name/logo on the Odyssey and BT building at some stage. I didn't realise they had changed! (although sort of did, when I think about it!).
here is a preview sceenshot of my RVH blender model...(just for reference)...am in the process of texture mapping...

This is excellent Jerome, any plans for doing some North Coast features? I was disappointed to find no sign of Dunluce Castle or the Giant's Causeway in the default scenery since they are world famous landmarks.

hi there - thanks for the feedback - I had sort of planned on doing an Ireland/Northern Ireland POIs project, so I should probably start on those two fairly soon...thanks again for the feedback!

Many thanks for this. I wish more developers made bespoke hand-crafted models rather than reworking photogrammetric data. I much prefer it. Keep up the good work.

This is excellent work, particularly when you consider how small the file size is.
Just one query - I see you have left a file in called "modelLib.BGL". Has the problem of using that name causing crashes gone away now?
Thanks very much.

hi there - thanks for the feedback!
about modelLib.BGL - it's an issue that I haven't experienced. I looked it up and found a thread, about modelLib.BGL although I don't think that the fielname could be an issue. For a start, the folder (/path) is relevant. Another modelLib.bgl, in another folder should have no consequences, as long as the file has a unique internal GUID, as far as I can see. In the same way that you may have numerous aircraft.cfg files, in different folders, (and quite a few aircraft.cfg would be in use by the sim, simultaneously), a duplicated name, in a different folder should have no effect. Any modelLib.BGL issues are most likely caused by errors within the BGL itself..it is possible to compile a BGL with errors, (or many warnings) although I always work through any game breaking issues in the console in developer mode. I've also read that there are addon managers that can rename the modelLib.bgl. I thought the file produced by the sdk had to be called modelLib.BGL...so anyway, thanks for bringing this to my attention...if loads of users start having problems, I'll look into the matter further, although like I say, it's an issue that I haven't encountered, and haven't had any feedback from users with issues with it.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Fantastic Addition Jerome, I managed to get the Photogrammetry scenery working however it turned Belfast into a slide show; this really extends the default Belfast scenery. Just out of Interest, are you planning on perhaps doing a model of `The Oval` on approach or the National stadium ?
hi there - thanks for the feedback! Very much appreciated! I had to look up what 'The Oval' was and even what the National Stadium is! :-) ...Windsor Park - yeah - I was sort of thinking there were a few stadiums that could be added, so hopefully I'll have them in the next update...there's probably quite a few church spires and other objects around the city centre that need added - the leaning Albert clock, for example...it's been years now since I've been to Belfast, even for a metal show, so any suggestions for real obvious buildings that I've left out, are appreciated and I should get round to including eventually...thanks again there!

Thank you for releasing these.
Because everyone is now releasing photogrammetry its good to see such nice handcrafting skill being used.
Basic PC users are being left behind - even a powerful i5 is going to struggle with the detail in some of the photo stuff.
We're all going to end up with 2Petabyte data farms at this rate ! I'm having to be selective about my community folder content with an i9 and 1Tb SSD already. so a few Mb scenery pack - Brilliant !

@mgh65 I was able to solve my add-on storage issues by installing a mod manager that allows you to move the contents of the community folder to a separate folder (on a different drive, if needed). I had lots of space available on a diferent internal drive (a regular drive, not SSD, so possibly slowing down load times - but not otherwise affecting performance). I use MSFS Addons Linker (free and available here). Highly recommended, even if storage is not an issue.
